Flight Time's Private Pilot program is designed to guide you step by step from your first flight lesson to flying solo. You will learn the fundamentals of aircraft control, navigation, communication, and safe decision making while building strong habits that will support every rating you pursue in the future.

What the Program Includes

Hands On Training from Day One

The Private Pilot License program includes 30 hours of dual flight instruction with one of our experienced instructors. During these flights, you will learn how to take off, land, navigate, and safely operate the aircraft while developing strong situational awareness.

You will also complete 10 hours of solo flight time, giving you the opportunity to apply what you have learned and build confidence flying independently.

In addition, the program provides 20 hours of ground instruction, where you will sharpen your aviation knowledge, including regulations, weather, aerodynamics, and flight planning. This ensures you are fully prepared not only for the checkride, but for real world flying.

Private Pilot License in Fort Lauderdale, FL

Private Pilot training at KFXE starts inside controlled airspace, which is unusual for a first certificate and a real advantage. You talk to Fort Lauderdale Tower on your first taxi, practice over the Everglades conservation areas west of the field, and fly the coastal VFR corridor along Fort Lauderdale beach for pilotage and navigation work.

Practice airports are close: Pompano Beach (KPMP) ten minutes north for pattern work, North Perry (KHWO) to the south, and Boca Raton (KBCT) for short-field practice — so cross-countries are productive lessons instead of long ferries.

We are the closest professional flight school for Pompano Beach, Oakland Park, Wilton Manors, Lauderhill and Plantation, roughly ten to fifteen minutes from each. Coral Springs, Hollywood and Aventura are about twenty minutes; Miami is around forty on I-95 outside rush hour. Hangar parking is free, so there is no airport garage fee stacked on top of a lesson.

Part-time students flying twice a week typically finish the Private in four to five months; full-time students finish in four to six weeks.
