10 minutes from Pompano Beach • 300+ VFR days/year • 12hrs/day, 7 days/week
Pompano Beach is the closest city to Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (KFXE) — just 10 minutes away. My Flight Time offers Pompano Beach residents the most convenient access to professional flight training in Broward County.
With KFXE practically in Pompano Beach's backyard, MFT students from Pompano enjoy the shortest commute of any nearby city. Pompano Beach Airport (KPMP) is also nearby, providing additional practice airports for touch-and-go training and cross-country routing.
All programs available: PPL ($11,900, 4–6 weeks), IR ($11,800), CPL ($4,050–$11,100), CFI ($5,800), time building from $60/hr. Evening and weekend scheduling available.
Pompano Beach students usually start with the Private Pilot program, add an instrument rating, then move into the Commercial Pilot program or the Airline Pilot Program. Career-track pilots close the hour gap with time building at KFXE — every rate is listed on our pricing page, and the aircraft you will fly are on the fleet page.
Year-round VFR flying. 300+ flyable days. No winter weather cancellations.
Pompano Beach is the shortest commute we serve — roughly ten minutes from Atlantic Boulevard down Powerline Road to the field. Students living east of Federal Highway are still under fifteen minutes. That proximity means you can realistically take a same-day cancellation slot, which is the single biggest accelerator of training progress.
We encourage Pompano students to build a four-lesson week: two mornings, one late afternoon, and one weekend session. Short, frequent lessons retain more than long infrequent ones, and the ten-minute drive makes that cadence painless. Students who work full time often fly 06:30 before their shift, since the field opens early and the air is calmest at that hour.
Pompano Beach Airpark (KPMP) is two miles north of KFXE, giving you a non-towered field for radio-call practice within minutes of takeoff. Typical local work includes KPMP pattern circuits, the shoreline VFR route to Boca and Delray for pilotage practice, and the western practice areas for maneuvers. Because both fields are so close, students here log an unusually high number of full-stop landings per hour flown, which is exactly what builds confident, precise landings.
