Our Instrument Training program combines high aircraft availability, in-house maintenance, and structured instruction to help pilots develop strong IFR skills and progress confidently toward airline careers.
An Instrument Rating is a critical step for pilots who want to fly safely and professionally when weather conditions are less than ideal. When visibility drops or clouds move in, this rating allows you to rely on your instruments rather than outside visual references. For anyone pursuing aviation as a career, instrument flying is a core skill that airlines expect every pilot to master.
This training builds your confidence in controlled airspace, complex procedures, and real world IFR operations. You will learn how to manage the aircraft precisely, make sound decisions under pressure, and operate safely in a wide range of weather scenarios.
Flight Time's Instrument Rating program is a 40 hour structured training course designed to make you proficient and confident in instrument flight operations. You will fly throughout the region practicing instrument approaches, navigating different airspaces, and learning how to operate the aircraft using instruments alone.
The program also includes 10 hours of simulator training with an instructor. Simulator time allows you to sharpen your skills, practice procedures, and build confidence before applying everything in the aircraft.
In addition, you will complete 20 hours of dedicated ground instruction with one of our instructors. These sessions focus on IFR regulations, approach and departure briefings, weather interpretation, and instrument procedures.
