20 minutes north from Aventura via I-95 • 300+ VFR days/year • 12hrs/day, 7 days/week
Aventura, located between Miami and Fort Lauderdale, is home to a large international community — many of whom are drawn to aviation. My Flight Time at KFXE is approximately 20 minutes north, offering Aventura residents access to world-class flight training.
Aventura's diverse international community makes it a natural feeder market for MFT's foreign license conversion and training programs. We regularly train pilots from South America, Europe, and the Caribbean who live in the Aventura and North Miami area. Our team is experienced with international student requirements including TSA approvals and FAA license verification.
Complete program lineup including foreign license conversion ($17,500), PPL ($11,900), CPL, CFI, and time building. Bilingual staff available.
Aventura students usually start with the Private Pilot program, add an instrument rating, then move into the Commercial Pilot program or the Airline Pilot Program. Career-track pilots close the hour gap with time building at KFXE — every rate is listed on our pricing page, and the aircraft you will fly are on the fleet page.
300+ VFR days. Year-round flying advantage.
Aventura is about thirteen miles south of the field — twenty to twenty-five minutes up I-95 to Cypress Creek or Commercial Boulevard. Students from Williams Island and the Country Club Drive area often prefer Federal Highway northbound, which avoids the I-95 merge entirely.
Aventura students are frequently international, so the first step is paperwork rather than flying: TSA Alien Flight Student Program approval, M-1 or applicable visa documentation, and FAA verification of any existing foreign license. We start that process while you fly your first lessons, so the administrative timeline runs in parallel instead of delaying training. Once cleared, most students here run an intensive daily schedule to make the most of their time in the United States.
The coastline directly east of Aventura is one of South Florida's best pilotage classrooms — Haulover Inlet, the Port of Miami and the barrier islands are unmistakable landmarks, and the VFR shoreline route between Fort Lauderdale and Miami is flown on nearly every early lesson. From there students add Opa-locka (KOPF) and KFLL for controlled-field variety, and the Bimini crossing for pilots who want documented over-water and international experience.
Driving in from somewhere else in South Florida? These pages cover commute times and local routes for nearby cities:
Yes. We have extensive experience with international pilots and handle TSA approvals, FAA license verification, and foreign conversion programs.
About 13 miles north of Aventura, typically 20 to 25 minutes via I-95 to the Cypress Creek or Commercial Blvd exits. Aventura students frequently pair a morning lesson with the drive back before midday traffic builds.
