Start your aviation journey at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport. Our accelerated Private Pilot License program gets you flying solo in weeks — not months.
Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (KFXE) is one of the busiest general aviation airports in the United States, making it an ideal training environment for aspiring private pilots. At My Flight Time, we operate a company-owned fleet of Cessna 172s and Piper Archer/Warrior aircraft — all maintained by our in-house 24/7 maintenance team. This means less downtime and more flying for you.
South Florida's year-round VFR weather gives you a major advantage over students training in northern states. While other schools lose weeks to weather cancellations, our students fly consistently — often completing their Private Pilot License in just 4 to 6 weeks.
Our program is structured under FAR Part 61, giving you and your instructor the flexibility to customize your training schedule. Whether you want to fly every day or a few times a week, we build a plan that works for your life and your goals.
The My Flight Time PPL program includes 30 hours of dual flight instruction with one of our experienced CFIs. You will learn takeoffs, landings, navigation, emergency procedures, and cross-country flight planning — all in real aircraft over South Florida's diverse airspace.
You will also complete 10 hours of solo flight time. This is where your confidence as a pilot truly develops. Flying alone for the first time is a milestone every pilot remembers, and our instructors ensure you are fully prepared before that moment arrives.
The program includes 20 hours of dedicated ground instruction covering FAA regulations, weather theory, aerodynamics, airspace classifications, and flight planning. We also prepare you for both the FAA written exam and the practical checkride.
Total program cost: $11,900 — significantly below the national average of $14,000+. This includes all dual instruction, solo time, ground school, and exam fees.
KFXE is a towered airport with three runways, full ILS approaches, and a busy traffic pattern that exposes you to real-world ATC communications from day one. Training here means you graduate with experience that many PPL holders from smaller, uncontrolled airports simply do not have.
Our training center is located at 1811 NW 51st Street, Hangar 42D, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309. We are open 7 days a week, with flight operations available from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Most of our students train 6 to 12 hours per day during intensive programs.
We accept students year-round with no waitlist. You can start your training within days of contacting us. Our fleet size and instructor availability mean you will never have to compete for aircraft time. Whether you are a local Fort Lauderdale resident, flying in from another state, or an international student — we have a program that fits.
For students traveling to train with us, we also offer affordable accommodations near the airport. Ask about our housing options when you apply.
Most students at My Flight Time complete their PPL in 4 to 6 weeks when training full-time. Part-time students typically finish in 2 to 3 months. Our flexible scheduling and year-round Florida weather help you stay on track.
Our PPL program is $11,900 all-in, which includes 30 hours dual instruction, 10 hours solo, 20 hours ground school, and all exam fees. This is well below the national average of $14,000+.
We train in Cessna 172s and Piper Archer/Warrior aircraft. All aircraft are company-owned and maintained by our in-house 24/7 maintenance team to minimize downtime.
