    Designated Pilot Examiners (DPEs)

How to find and book an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner for a checkride in the South Florida FSDO area.

    About Designated Pilot Examiners (DPEs)

FAA checkrides in this area are conducted by Designated Pilot Examiners overseen by the South Florida FSDO. Several active examiners work in and around Fort Lauderdale, with authorizations that vary by certificate, category and class — private, commercial, instrument, multi-engine, ATP, CFI and helicopter privileges are all held by different individuals.

The FAA does not publish a public, browsable examiner directory searchable by name and location, and examiner contact details that appear on third-party sites are self-reported. Confirm authorizations, availability and fees directly with the examiner before booking.

The most reliable route for our students is to ask their instructor: our CFIs schedule checkrides regularly and know which examiners currently have availability at KFXE.
